Visa has changed its policies for card issuance in certain countries, making it impossible for us to offer Deel cards where some of our customers reside. This change is completely outside of our control, and we are sorry about the inconvenience caused.
Below you will find answers to your questions on how this will affect your existing cards and what actions you can take.
General
When will VISA cards be deactivated?
All active VISA cards will be deactivated on Aug 31, 2022. Until then, your existing card(s) will continue to work as usual. Eligible users will receive replacement virtual cards issued by Mastercard before August 31, which will be immediately ready to use.
What will happen to my funds?
Nothing will happen to your funds. Your card wallet will still be active, even if you're currently not eligible for a replacement. This means that you will still be able to fund, hold, and withdraw with your Deel Card wallet.
Where can I use the virtual card?
You can use the Deel Card globally anywhere Mastercard debit is accepted. Please note that the usual restrictions still apply due to our partner requirements - you can read more about those in this article.
Why have we switched to Mastercard?
Visa has changed its policies for card issuance in certain countries, making it impossible for us to offer Deel cards where some of our customers reside. We are proactively migrating to Mastercard in order to be able to support more of our customers now, and in the future.
Where is the Mastercard Deel Card available?
Currently, we are able to issue cards in the following countries. We are working to rapidly expand the list of countries we can support in the coming months.

Will I get a replacement card?
To be eligible for a Deel Card replacement, you need to have completed the KYC verification on Deel, have an active contract with a verified client, and reside in one of our supported countries (above). We will be reaching out to you directly through email by Aug 24, 2022 to notify you if you are eligible for a replacement card or not.
Do I need to request my replacement card?
If you're located in a supported country, your cards will be replaced automatically by August 31, 2022. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details in the days leading up to this date.
Will my card details remain the same?
No. We will issue you a Mastercard with a new card number, CVC, and expiration date. All other card features and functionality will remain the same.
How many cards can I get replaced?
We'll replace all your currently active VISA cards with virtual Mastercards, including physical cards. We're working to provide replacement physical cards in the upcoming months.
Will I be charged for the new cards?
No. The replacements will be issued free of charge.
When can I get my physical card?
Physical cards are coming soon! We will be notifying users as soon as physical Deel Cards are available. In the meantime, any eligible users with an existing physical card will receive a virtual replacement at no cost.
